Tablets: Android lags behind Apple in 2015

Posted: March 16th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Smart Phone | Tags: , ,

In terms of market share in tablet, Android Catches Up with Apple iPad IOS device to continue. However, there will be several years until the platform is at the top – even though a change in leadership seems based on the figures for the fourth quarter of an imminent short.

In the last three months of 2011, Apple was able to sell a total of 15.4 million iPads. According to the market research firm IDC, this represents a market share of 54.7 percent. In the third quarter was 61.5 percent was recorded. The market share of Android it climbed from 32.3 percent to 44.6 percent.

However, two factors play a role here which distorts the results. On the one hand, it was predicted that Apple will be the beginning of a new iPad version on the market, which caused some potential buyers to wait for better. It may be argued that the pre-orders for the iPad available from next week are already available on a new record level. On the other hand, it was the first quarter, when Amazon’s Kindle highly subsidized Fire was available, which sold well.

Without those special items, it is the view of the market researchers take until 2015 until Android makes iOS in the global market for tablets behind. However, until then not change the fact that Apple remains the world’s largest provider of tablet PCs. The Android’s market share will be divided on a number of providers that are cheaper models with some success, it said.

The IDC analyst noted in addition that this is even more crucial for economic success. Even though there might be some manufacturers that the iPad come close in terms of sales, Apple is recorded, according to market researchers about the year 2016 also clearly the strongest sales in the device class.

FaceTime does not work on LTE / 4G using the new iPad

Posted: March 15th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Smart Phone | Tags: ,

The truth is that to us or affect us this news for now, but it remains a curiosity that the new iPad continue with these limitations in the U.S. now, and when it points directly to one of their new star.

Apparently the new iPhone can not access all functions star using the connectivities of LTE / 4G of which boast a couple of versions (the most expensive) of the new Apple tablet.

We speak specifically of FaceTime, which can not be used only with Wi-Fi, 4G networks are also not supported, as you can see the error message pictured above.

We know that is not new as such, since in 2010, when it was introduced FaceTime, said it would only be usable by Wi-Fi mobile networks until avanzasen enough to withstand the flow of data.

Apparently that day has not arrived yet for Apple, so I assume that will come when we have iPads and iPhones with 4G connectivity, until then, everyone using Wi-Fi FaceTime, have the device you have.

Curate.me, another option for compilations of news

Posted: March 14th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Technology | Tags: ,

ve acquired a taste for the services engaged in gathering the news have been circulating for more social networks. I have found it extremely useful to go fishing for things that otherwise I would have gone. Summify first I was interested, but also from its purchase by Twitter his future is uncertain, I’m trying other options like News.me or new Curate.me .

Curate.me XYDO was formerly known as Brief and is about a service that sends us to mail a compilation of news items that we select and networks that give you access. Of these, we can grant them permission to Twitter, Facebook, Google Reader and LinkedIn. The service just came out of private beta, after six months of testing with 20,000 users.

The collections are completely customizable and can create several different issues so that we arrive at different times. The process is as follows: we already have a default collection can be customized in terms of content. We can add or remove topics or social networks, we indicate which days to send us the collection and at what times in particular.

Once done, we can create more “Briefs” or compilations. For example, we create one that we arrive in the afternoon but with different themes to the other collection. Each “brief” is individual and it seems since I have not found anything to the contrary, you can create all those who want.

As for issues, we can choose up to ten different for each “brief”, including among them our social networking accounts. Each of them can be modulated by means of a graphical indicator in the interest that we have in it. Say, each email can contain up to ten or twelve links of each item.

Although collections are mailed, we can also access the latest version of each “brief” using a web version that can be found at the site of service. Furthermore, collections, each story is accompanied by their respective buttons to quickly share them via Twitter, Facebook and Google +.

Having used some Curate.me, firstly my impression is good. I like the ability to create multiple collections to reach me throughout the day and the level of customization they offer in terms of topics and interest you have in them. Worth giving a try to see how it evolves and that this is the selection of news to offer.

Intel is working on its own video streaming service

The Intel chip designers will be interested in its own video streaming service. That the industry magazine Business Week reported, citing three sources familiar with the matter alleged. Thus, already in talks with cable operators and media groups in order to obtain the necessary broadcast rights.

The company, based in Santa Clara should be tried for months so to get the broadcasting rights of the copyright owners. The plan was therefore to provide an Internet service that streamed TV programs and video-on-demand services can be handled. Intel plans to offer such a set-top box, which allows the connection to the TV. Also, for computers and mobile devices the service will be made available.

Even if the rumors are true, however – from Santa Clara wanted to comment on the message – this is the future of a possible new foothold for Intel is far from fixed. On the one hand, it is unclear whether Intel will receive the necessary rights to transmit via the Web and on the other hand, the company only push in a difficult market. In addition to Apple TV and Google TV approaches – both enterprise run more bad than good – in the company would have even the most pure VoD and streaming services.

The first Worldwide Convention starts this September Jailbreak

Posted: March 10th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Smart Phone | Tags: ,

Yes, you read that right: a new technology event focused on jailbroken devices will be born within a few months. Jailbreak Worldwide Conference will be called (or WWJC not be confused with the WWDC event Apple’s official developer). Be held in San Francisco, and intended as an annual powerhouse gathering where all activities related to skip blockades on your Apple iPhone, iPod touch and iPhone.

In the first edition, which will be open from September 29, we will share Cydia creator Jay Freeman and one of its most important developer Ryan Petrich. Many of those responsible for the most popular tools for implementing jailbreaks will be present, and although the event’s agenda is not published are expected to have interesting talks and lectures.

I do not think Apple will do much grace to premiere an entire event dedicated to jailbreak their devices (although I suppose there will be room for breakouts on other platforms), especially when they often warned users about the risks and void the warranty. But this is inevitable when a lock someone will get over it, for whatever reason

Zeiss Cinemizer OLED takes contact

Posted: March 9th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Technology | Tags: ,

One of the biggest surprises of this year’s CeBIT has been to find a small stand of the brand Carl Zeiss in which the veteran showed the optical manufacturer Zeiss Cinemizer OLED, multimedia spectacles quite promising.

Made in shiny white plastic blinds (can not see through them) the well to remember Cinemizer Novero Madison could see just a couple of weeks at the Mobile World Congress .

Like Madison, the Cinemizer are based on two small OLED displays. The difference is that this model of Zeiss and boasts Full HD 1080p resolution and supports 3D. Of all the glasses that we have seen, these are best seen with the Sony, with the added attraction that these are much smaller and lighter.

Zeiss has developed its Cinemizer as a personal monitor. In other words, no software or operating system or media player itself. Its small wired remote, other than house the batteries, incorporates miniHDMI connection 1.4a-compatible, miniUSB, and a composite video connector adapter for Apple devices. Any video source you connect will play as we have in that source, just like a monitor.

The Cinemizer come with their own headphones or we can connect our entry corresponding to 3.5 mm Jack. The autonomy of these glasses is six hours with sources like the iPod that are cut very hard to only 2 when the signal comes from HDMI. This problem, however, is undermined by the fact that if you connect something HDMI as a console is likely to have at hand a plug.

The effect of Cinemizer is a forty-inch display two meters and we can scale the image from -5 to 2 diopters to correct vision unable to wear glasses with them. Another interesting detail is that Cinemizer have integrated sensors that allow movement and position, if the content is compatible, true 3D view everything around us, necessary first step in virtual reality.

Alternative until a transparent panel OLED on us to see or not as far, these glasses from Zeiss are the best we’ve seen in the emerging segment of the multimedia spectacle. Spain will arrive in July depending on whether or not there is demand and price, though, falls short of Carl Zeiss: 649 euros

The new iPhone, with its first ad

Posted: March 8th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Gadgets | Tags: ,

Introducing the new iPhone, with an impressive display Retina. It makes things that matter to you look better than ever.
Apple has launched the first announcement of the new iPhone that appeared at the event yesterday and, not surprisingly, focus on your screen Retina with four times the resolution than the previous generation. Entitled “So good,” the ad slogan says, “When a screen becomes this good, you’re just you and the things you care about.”

The first impressions seem to support not only the quality of the Retina display of the new iPhone but also their ability to return to keep competition at bay with this and spent three years trying to land in a market created by Apple. Good luck with that.

Just a year ago since we introduced the Apple iPad 2 , and again today we have another appointment with the company on the block to know a new iPhone. A Quick Look at MiMedia Online Backup

Posted: March 6th, 2012 | Author: | Filed under: Internet

When you think of online backup solutions, you most likely consider Carbonite, SugarSync, and other “big names” in the market. There are, of course, plenty of lesser-known solutions that are operating hard to offer backup solutions that are equal to those from the leaders. Obviously, before choosing any backup provider, you would like to do a little of research to create sure it isn’t one of the “here these days, gone tomorrow” businesses.

It does not take lengthy to dig about and discover a few of the lesser-known providers that are nonetheless holding their very own against the leaders. 1 service, particularly, is called MiMedia. This backup service continues to be in operation for around a year. Certainly one of their important functions is the capability for customers to have on-demand access to all of their files.

This on-demand entry allows you to view your videos, appear through your pictures, peruse your paperwork, and pay attention for your favorite songs all from one location – MiMedia’s web interface. So far as conventional backup services, MiMedia provides automatic backups and syncing of altered files.

For your initial upload, you are able to use their Shuttle Drive services. This service involves MiMedia delivering you a Shuttle Generate which you link to your pc. Your files are backed up to the generate, you send it back again to MiMedia, and they upload your data towards the cloud. This is a timesaving service for users which have a sizable quantity of information to shop.

MiMedia offers a 7GB totally free plan, a 250GB plan for $9.99/month or $99/year, and even 500GB and 1TB plans, if required. You are able to attempt the paid strategy for thirty times and you can backup as numerous devices as you want. The service is really a little bit limited because there is no Mac assistance but, however they promise that it’s within the functions.

Like other backup companies, MiMedia wants you to refer their service to other people. They provide a unique twist towards the regular “free area for referrals” plan of many backup solutions. With MiMedia, free customers get 1GB of area for each five referrals that join any strategy – even the free strategy. Compensated users get a $25 MiMedia services credit score for every five referrals. So, five referrals pays for about two months of the 250GB strategy. All customers obtain a $25 American Convey gift card for every compensated referral.

Mimedia seems to be one service that warrants to become watched. Following a year in the business, they are still going powerful and creating fair offers to help keep new customers coming in. As soon as they add other OS support and perhaps toss inside a couple of mobile applications, they’ll definitely have their location in the online backup supplier market.
