Jaguar XK diesel
Apparently the possibility that is offered for sale a Jaguar XK diesel is becoming closer. The English brand is assessing this possibility even within the company itself some controversy.
The detractors argue that in Europe the versions to cannibalize diesel fuel (if you’re selling the same for a similar price is not worth the investment required to mount a diesel engine). But there are two arguments in favor of weight.
First, that the sales of the Jaguar XK has a downward trend and a diesel version could improve those numbers and secondly the example of BMW 6 Series and for the moment is working well, and further taking into account the difference in prices that can access between version 272 hp petrol (74,000 euros) and the diesel version of 286 hp (81,300 euros) and a performance very similar. The Car Parts Direct will offer you custom parts for your car.
Besides the new 3.0 V6 engine 275 hp diesel is having enough good news (on diesel have only tested a Jaguar XF with engine 2.7 that was subsequently replaced and I made a positive impression, especially as to rumors and smoothness is concerned) and would be a good candidate for the Jaguar XK.
Regarding the debate of whether a luxury cuope as the Jaguar XK should or should not ride a diesel engine, I think the answer lies in the figures. Going from 10,000 units produced 12,000 is a quantum leap, and as I always say survival is at stake.
If it makes sense or not buy a diesel sports cuope aspiring to save on petrol when you have spent some 80,000 euros on a car is a thing of the buyers and certainly for a number of owners of a BMW 635d looks like a good idea.
On the other hand there are people who will buy it for autonomy, although the shell has 71 liters with an average consumption of 11.2 l/100 km manual you spend all day at the pump if you make more than 20 km a day. In any case it is expected that the new Jaguar XK out in 2013 and from the start with a diesel engine. Let’s wait.
